As a science fiction writer I really fucking resent tech bros for ruining the phrase "artificial intelligence." 80 years of it being all about cool androids and interesting computers destroyed by five years of "Spicy autocorrect making everything shittier for money." NEVER FORGIVE.

It's not until June so you still have time to play Rosewater, Lamplight City or even the underrated gem that is A Golden Wake before you listen to him tell you how it was done!

This game got me interested in the history of Miami-Dade County (in general) and Coral Gables (specifically). Partly because the City Beautiful movement was influenced by urban designer Daniel Burnham—and therefore the initial city plans for Manila and Baguio, by way of American era colonial policy.

I think out of all the Grundislav Games, most people sleep on A Golden Wake. Lamplight City and Rosewater have the most "game" elements, with mysteries to solve and epic adventures to have, but A Golden Wake is sneakier. It's a point-and-click about the 1920s Florida land boom, and that's cool!

Things my adventure games will do: - Offer unique worlds to explore and characters to meet - Tell compelling stories, some with branching narrative Things they won’t do: - Frustrate you with unfair logic - Make you regain your lost childhood Get them on sale:

adventure games from the 80s were intentionally designed to be tricky, mean and occasionally counterintuitive so that you could get stuck for long periods of time. this was called “value for your dollar”
