Hello, I'm Richard. I write games. Please like them and also me.

At this point, genuinely wondering when people are going to start suing over not being reported as being in the Epstein files on the grounds that they are totally important enough to have been invited and that implying otherwise is libel.

Monika is... disturbingly fun to write. The scary thing about her dialogue is that there are bits that I cut out for going too far.

Wake up. Eat curry and wash it down with coffee. Head to school. Study. Develop social links. Face off against personified representations of humanityâs shared consciousness. Hire maid. Homework and/or bath. Bed. Dream of rehabilitation. Kill false god. Ace exams. Date everyone. Buy gun. Repeat.

kindly invited me to speak to a rowdy and welcoming crowd of game devs, which I did, and now there's video proof! The topic: IMPOSTOR SYNDROME Thanks again. It was a blast. Can't wait to see y'all again in November :-)

Database functions in Ink are *incredibly* useful. Since we're doing show and tell, this is how I handle things like random encounters and bar conversations, as well as the more general 'databases' that are mostly to make it easier to pull stuff into Godot for UI display purposes.

New Substage feature! Instant Actions: the most common commands now skip the AI step entirely, making them suuuper snappy. It feels amazing for these common use cases. The video below is real-time - no editing or speedup. More in my little blog post đ

Unexpectantly pleasantly surprised by the first two episodes of Starfleet Academy. Particularly enjoy the way that Holly Hunter's Captain/Chancellor has enough cat DNA to sit comfortably on her chair. Semi-related, Gabrielle Ruiz could totally pull off live-action T'Lyn and should be phoned at once.
