The thing that makes me angry about these protests is that for Repeal, we had to go out and knock on doors and be polite to people who thought we were the devil for months and these guys can just dump a tractor in the street and get what they want in five days.

Notable as the Muslims Sisters went out of their way to be non-threatening to the protesters beforehand. It really does only take a handful of people to cause huge problems, but as long as the protesters tolerate that handful, that is entirely their fault and they shoulder responsibility.

This is not just a number. This is one million people who have had to leave their homes and often their beloved pets. They’ve had to leave behind Christmas cards their toddlers made, framed family photos, food, clothing, their father’s stamp collection, safety, and their memories.

The electrical revolution is happening - across several domains - faster and further than almost anyone dared predict. And any country that does not embrace it will be left in the fossil age.

That the statement "rising costs are making it hard for my business to keep going," is seen as worthy of respect in a way that, "I can't afford a place to live," isn't tells you everything about the prevailing values of the Irish media. Some people matter, some people don't.
