It was a real pleasure to chair Rashid Khalidi's excellent talk last night on shared genealogies of colonial violence and counterinsurgency in Ireland and Palestine. Such a rich discussion anchored in extensive research and critical thinking of colonialism as a structure, not an event.

Some solid reporting here. The journal has been consistently good on scrutinising the far right, much better than much of the legacy media.

While many protesters in Ireland are complaining about fuel costs, far-right actors and international figures are using the movement to push anti-immigrant narratives.

There's definitely a contradiction in self declared Irish nationalists aping the modes of protest and seeking the support of English nationalists, but Irish nationalism has never needed English nationalism in order to be exclusionary, xenophobic and/or mobilised behind the interests of capital.
