Before today, Decathlon had taken part in exactly 100 TTTs in their history and they had won ONE - Stage 3 of the Vuelta a Castilla y Leon in 2005.

Paris-Nice today. Tirreno-Adriatico tomorrow. Even you, yes YOU, can use your tiny little brain to comprehend what is going on. (A post from this time last year...)

I have resurrected my old Cycling Books podcast to celebrate World Book Day. The Ronde by Ed Pickering, you know, to coincide with the classics and all that. I spoke to Ed more than 7 years ago about his book, one of the best about cycling ever written.

“Cycling is a hugely popular sport. However, its media exposure and the revenues it generates do not match its popularity,” I wonder how Lappartient knows this. Or how he thinks he knows this.

What a great win by Axel Laurance. I love scenarios like that. A win by the head as much as by the legs.

Surely as soon as Unibet Rockets actually get to the Tour de France, a bit of the magic of the story will pass and to a degree, they’ll become just another team. The story remains quite compelling while they’re still chasing the invite. Perhaps it’s even more compelling after today.

Fun read with some good points. Teams are lasting longer than ever and almost becoming enduring franchises now... but it's getting brittle, as teams need ever more money just to stay still and some sponsors could opt out of this soon
