As if the past 15 years weren’t bad enough. The kind of strong and stable government we can expect from our broken voting system.

ICYMI: The APPG for Fair Elections — now the biggest ‘All-Party Parliamentary Group’ in Westminster — has revealed polling this month showing that a majority (52%) of the public backs its call for a ‘National Commission for Electoral Reform’, whilst just 10% oppose it (h/t Democracy Network)

The lesson here, as I see it, is that populists can't actually govern (which we knew) but they *can* win power. In an electoral system with PR, yes there's the risk that they will be the largest party in a coalition, but those are fragile, whereas under FPTP once they're in, they're in. See eg US.
