Credit Unions should be able to serve the communities in which they operate, with particular attention to those on low to moderate incomes. In England, dormant assets held by the Bank of England can be used as capital to support the growth of credit unions, but this is not available Scotland.

It was a privilege to welcome the Prime Minister, Defence Secretary, and others at BAE Systems in my constituency of Glasgow South West. This investment will boost growth whilst delivering 9,000 jobs on the Clydeside and across the country, playing a crucial role in Labour’s plan for change.

A pleasure to visit STV Studios in Glasgow South West today and meet with broadcasting icon John MacKay and Scotland’s leading meteorologist Seán Batty. Grateful to the team for the warm welcome and the opportunity to learn more about their work behind the scenes.

I’m delighted to hear today that there have been one million pedestrian and cyclist crossings across the Govan – Patrick bridge since it was opened. The bridge, funded in part with £12.685million provided by the UK Government, re-established the important connection between Govan and Patrick.
