Don't buy that FIGHT CLUB 4K disc. It's too damn dark, and you can see in the comparison below that they've gone in and done beauty touch-ups to erase texture on actors' faces. Look at the cheeks and forehead. Source:

Very nice to see OBSESSION having its moment. It's a well-directed debut anchored by one incredible performance by Inde Navarrette. Curry Barker has a very tight control over the film's tone and visual language, but found myself wishing it felt a little more uncontrolled and wild.

PROJECT HAIL MARY was at times quite beautiful, especially in its design choices. Love that red EVA suit. But boy howdy, the shallow DOF often reduced the impressive sets into mushy backdrops for Ryan Goslingâs smirking mug and perfectly tousled hair. We donât need to shoot at T2.0 so much, folks!

After PROJECT HAIL MARY, we can put a pin in the scene in a space travel movie where the craft enters an uncontrolled spin and the hero guy has to correct it. Itâs happened twice with Ryan Gosling in the cockpit! Weâre good for now!

Even some of the best action scenes these days lack impact due to not wanting to cut to other angles. Sure, maybe it improves the clarity of the action or better showcases fight choreo. But that knife fight in JOHN WICK 3 (good flick!) doesnât have the impact of the KUNG FU HUSTLE knife scene!

Iâve seen that clip of Bernthalâs double (real or digital) falling in that new PUNISHER special, and yeah, it looks bad. People complain about the quality of the VFX, but honestly, why was that fall gag done in a single wide shot? Weâre forgetting the impact that jump cuts provide in action scenes!

I'm gonna be honest y'all. When I am in a conversation with someone about art, and they start up with that "there are no good [movies/bands/artists/etc] anymore", I find it incredibly difficult to take them seriously. Say what ya will but some people need to learn how to look.

I once again repeat: People declare they won't watch a black and white silent movie and then wander off to watch, murky, monochrome modern movies where everyone mutters and mumbles under an unmelodic yet aggressive score.

I hate how SJWs have infected pop culture with heavy handed lectures instead of having pure thrilling entertainment like when Captain Kirk visited a planet where half the people were purple and half were pink and they hated each other because of it until MarâTan Luther Qâing taught them a better way

As of last month, it looks like the defendants (the TOGETHER parties) have hired another attorney. Now it looks like both sides are preparing for discovery, which could get interesting. Naturally, everything is moving at a snailâs pace, because itâs litigation.

If youâre still interested in the lawsuit regarding the Dave Franco/Alison Brie movie TOGETHER: Back in February, the court denied the defendantsâ motion to dismiss the suit, because the makers of the movie BETTER HALF successfully argued that the movies were too similar. Litigation still ongoing.

An underrated 21st century skill is knowing what level of digital friendship you should have with somebody. Getting that Instagram request and being able to say, "no, LinkedIn mutuals is right for us." Tough when you realize belatedly that you don't actually want to know what your gym trainer thinks
