Honestly, the great crisis of our society is the unwillingness of institutions to inflict consequences. Impeach the president, fire the sex pests, expel cheating students, excommunicate an unrepentant heretic, prosecute the war criminals. Believe in your institution enough to enforce its rules.

Well, I am not sure what my analysis here is worth, but here is my 7,500 word primal scream of a military historian's take on the War in Iran. My best summary: this war is dumb as hell.

Miscellanea: The War in Iran
This post is a set of my observations on the current war in Iran and my thoughts on the broader strategic implications. I am not, of course, an expert on the region nor do I have access to any spec…

I don't know if the constitution has failed us, but I sure know these conglomerations of pathetic worms in the shape of men have failed the constitution. If the constitution is broken, it is quite literally because the founders could not conceive of men so spineless. It never occurred to them!

It sure seems bad that as an American citizen, I have no idea.when our president will lawlessly and unilaterally take us to war with Iran because there has been no public debate at all.

This cannot be something a civilian law enforcement agent is allowed to wear in the US — and an agency that has a culture that tolerates this cannot be saved.

Let’s talk about abolishing ICE. Very few people who say “abolish ICE” mean “abandon all immigration enforcement.” Rather, they mean “the structure of immigration enforcement is irretrievably broken and needs to be reorganized, just like we did 23 years ago when we created ICE.” /1

Vinegar does no good, nor do other acids. Baking soda does no good, nor do other bases. The three tear gases are not neutralized by any of them. Milk does no good either. You need soap/detergent and water for skin and clothing, and always only plain water for the eyes. Lots of it. That’s it.

you can tell romantasy truly is ascendant as a genre because while people are saying very nice things about A Drop of Corruption, the negative bits are mostly "why isn't your murder mystery series a romance instead"
