The Lowdown! Excellent television! Sterling Harjo is a generational talent.

There is so much going on in those scripts. Betty Jo is the name of the woman in Walter Tevis' The Man Who Fell to Earth (which Lee is reading in the finale and Dale says he's also read) whose love more or less dooms the alien to alcoholism and other earthy pleasures/miseries.

Rewatching The Lowdown season finale and noticed something I didn't catch the first time: Lee drives past a billboard that reads "A Poor Man Is Better Than A Liar" before he uses a similar line on Betty Jo (who then asks him if he read it on a billboard).
