Whenever I struggle with my art I think about how my younger self would react to where I'm at now. He'd lose his mind. "We can actually draw comics/kissing/humans/etc now???" Yeah, we can cause we didn't stop drawing what we craved to create. And we won't stop.

I said this to my friend last night and I think it's a good thing to think about: If no one else, make art for your younger self. Make art of your ocs that your younger self would have dreamed to be able to draw. Make art that would make them keyboard smash an excited reply to. Make art for you.

I thought I couldn't learn guitar. I thought I couldn't learn to draw. I thought I couldn't learn to animate. I thought I couldn't learn to drive. Looking back, I see how silly it was to make roadblocks for myself. Take that leap. Don't be afraid to learn. Don't be afraid to fail.

is it time to bust out my "bigfoot is bears" photo collection again? if your mental image of a bear is a thick-furred, fat glossy male bear in autumn, you're probably not prepared for how weird their proportions can look in spring, or when walking upright, like they frequently do.

The soft and "cozy" moments in ghibli only resonate with us as much as they do BECAUSE of the rest of the moments in the movies like these! Also the nice moments are usually like showing nature in it's full glory etc, like this is how it can be if we stop fucking it up.
