Another update on Mallows: She's being held at the vet with internal bleeding and organ failure. The vet bill is $40,000 and at least half is required as down payment to get her into surgery. The last major vet bill my ex and I had to pay was $42,000 and it was literally our entire savings.

Every day is a good day to share a good before/after portrait. This is Gerald’s shelter intake photo, May 2023. He wasn’t just bedraggled, wounded, and starving; he was grieving his person, who had died in his home. Family emptied the house and abandoned the cat, who had clearly been loved.
