To study ribosome molecular aging, we developed a bio-orthogonal HaloTag strategy to label ribosomes in living cells. This enables us to track ribosomes over time and purify defined age populations, allowing us to study how ribosome composition and function change with age. (2/10)

Help! NCBI flagged some residual adaptors in new genome assemblies submitted to Genbank, so I ran FCS Adaptor & removed them. I deleted the original file and replaced with cleaned one. Contamination report still flags the same seqs, as if it is still analyzing the old file. Any suggestions welcome!

Excellent points here, and the article doesn’t even mention how English is an absolute dumpster fire of a “scientific” language. Explicit or implicit bias about the quality of the science based on the “quality” of the English used to communicate it is a major problem.

The CloneChecker kit from ThermoScientific is great: suspend an E. coli colony in Green Buffer, boil and add restriction digest buffer and enzyme, digest 30 min, run entire reaction on gel and there’s visible bands. Seems like we should be able to guess what’s in this proprietary buffer. Ideas?
