I recently had to get some cash at the ATM, but the touchscreen wasn't working and it was a Sunday so I couldn't just go into the bank to get some cash. So I wondered what I could do... then I thought to use the accessibility settings and it worked! Remember, accessibility helps everyone.

I never tire of pointing out that multiple shows did "Oh, my old friend is trans? That's interesting!" episodes in the '70s and '80s, and while none of these hold up by modern representation standards, they're all quite good and accepting in a way you might not expect.

I really need health care reporters to get educated on ABA because I am extremely tired of seeing stories about ‘autism services’ being cut and then it’s just ABA uncritically represented as the best thing ever and no discussion of services autistics have actually asked for and benefit from.

The comments: “but there are bigger problems!” Many things are problems. The time it takes to write a skeet of 300 characters or less pointing out exactly one problem is negligible and does not take anything of significance away from whichever issues are your personal top five.

Also note that when someone has physical control of your device (as was the case here) end to end encryption doesn’t matter. Signal is about not being snooped on while you’re messaging and preventing signal’s servers from providing your messages to anyone. It’s not secure for 100% of scenarios.

Even leaving aside any moral imperatives, "don't be political" is bad advice unless you enjoy being bland. "Why are you selling hamburgers made by hand from premium ingredients? You're alienating people who prefer McDonald's!" Maybe so! But I don't want to be McDonald's.
