If you are an individual, unelected citizen of a republic, you shouldn't get to make battlefield decisions or do statecraft. And historically, giving material support to enemy states is a major red line.That Musk does this regularly and the state hasn't crushed him is a BAD sign.

On a conceptual level, if one person is rich enough to act as a state unto themselves, you don't have a republic. If that's too esoteric, if one person is rich enough to literally buy votes, as Musk did, you don't have a republic either. The ultra rich are toxic to a free society.
