Genuine question: has Netflix put out a business case, creative case or anything substantial/non-fluff about why they wanted to buy a movie studio?

This how a weirdly successful long-running series about humans coming to terms with their identities while birds build computers in the background.

Sets for Batman Returns were kept very cold for the comfort of the real-life penguins involved. This meant that cast/crew repeatedly got sick during filming. The real-life penguins though would often fall in love with their animatronic counterparts or feel so settled that they began mating.

Gang, Victor expert here. This isn’t funny. He drinks like 4 or 5 glasses of milk throughout the movie. Victors only do that when they’re distressed.

Please stop posting your kids' candy hauls if they're depressing bullshit. I've seen so many Twizzlers, Mike & Ikes, Junior Mints, etc. that I'm about to start calling child services. Somebody posted a shot with multiple visible 100-calorie packs of Blue Diamond almonds. Have some self respect.

the democratic party’s basic problem is it has almost no control over how its message reaches the ears of voters, especially outside of presidential election years. but rather than devote serious time, attention and cash to that problem its consultants and pundits want to fight factional battles

i was surprised to learn that bc most protein powders are considered dietary supplements, they basically fall into a regulatory grey area there's no federal limit on the amount of lead they can contain and neither manufacturers nor the FDA have to prove these products are safe before they're sold

Melville had access to a time machine and while working as a writer for The Simpsons, wrote the first third of Moby Dick. He then went back in time after he realized the Poochie episode was about him.

all discourse aside, there is one machine with consciousness. it's printers. they are alive and conscious and they hate you and they'd take your arm clean off if you let them. never trust a printer.

I see pieces like this a lot, often w/ a spin of lamenting cultural degeneration, but reading is a LABOR issue, it’s declined because so many people are working overtime or two jobs & employers expect after hours work. France has Earth’s highest reading rate b/c long lunch breaks & labor protections
