I think Asha Rangappa is right — they are lining up the external and internal enemies. Or trying to. This is very risky and will almost certainly blow up in their faces.

Nothing will guarantee that MAGA endures like compromise or a failure to hold this responsible for the crimes committed in its name accountable. Meeting them halfway extends their viability. Bending the knee and enabling them gives them a long future.
