It should be remembered that the US was pushing and arming Saddam Hussein in the Iran-Iraq War. Israel was then selling arms to Iran. Just in case you want to get more of a bead on Iranian animus toward the US (besides the CIA overthrowing democratically elected President Mossadegh in 1953)
