Imagine somehow going broke when you own all of the oil in the world and every car in the world uses it. Only guy who can relate to that is someone who somehow bankrupted a casino in a country full of gambling addicts

This may not be entirely fair but a reason I don’t think mayor Pete has It is because he polled zero percent among Black voters, the demographic which - can’t say this without sounding condescending but - usually gets it right, early, when it comes to candidates

Again I am dying not to drive. I don’t want to drive. If you make spaces for all it gets people like me off the roads and less traffic for the people that want to drive.

I just don’t see how we can pretend even for a moment that anything involving our federal government is remotely normal when the president is covering up his involvement in a child sex trafficking ring. Like, what are we doing here

Being good at making money doesn’t mean you’re good at anything else. It definitely doesn’t mean your opinions on anything else are important. It most likely just means you’re ruthless, which is the primary trait of most rich people.

Actually, one more point. Driving up to Snoqualmie Pass in the snow is a privilege. Don't have snow tires? Or snow chains? Or a 4WD? Or a car at all? Then you're SOL. A bus levels the playing field and opens the snow to everyone. Let's get it done, Metro.

Seattle's Mamdani is winning by an absurdly small margin over our incumbent mayor, who once pulled a gun on a pregnant woman in a parking lot. Vote in your local elections!

A leader would not have lost eight colleagues tonight. This happened because you let it happen or because you’ve totally lost control of the caucus in one of the most important moments since you’ve been Democratic leader. Either way, it’s on you. You need to step down. We need someone who can lead.

So the oldest person ever to become president keeps falling asleep in his office during public events and there’s no big public discussion on how this is a coverup or how republicans are lying to us about how this government is running?

Mamdani's line that billionaires spent more to oppose his candidacy than he proposed to tax them really says it all. Like a company that shuts down a profitable location as soon as it unionizes. The principle of maintaining control is more important.

It was a rejection of the entire administration and Dems should see this as a signal to become an actual opposition party. On everything. You don't stop the shutdown. You don't approve another appointee. You do nothing at all. The voters saved you, not the other way around. LEARN TO LEAD.

This is clearly critical of the government of Israel but I’ve never seen a shred of evidence that Mamdani holds antisemitic views. The only thing they can cite is a slogan he didn’t say.

The thing about the billionaires failing to stop Mamdani is what they spent is about the equivalent as a normal person sticking a 20 in a slot machine and shrugging when it doesn't hit. Kind of a problem.

Watching Mamdani's victory speech, I'm struck by his—and his campaign's—unabashed vision of the US as an immigrant society, a culture built from the ground up from diversity. It is a complete rejection and reversal of the search for a white-washed homogeneity that the political right projects.

Hearing MSNBC say that you couldn't run Mamdani anywhere other than NYC because it's "cosmopolitan" is so frustrating. He could win in Chicago. He could win in Portland. He could win in LA. Bernie, AOC, and Elizabeth Warren are very popular among Democrats across the nation. Move to the left!

We deserve better. Dehumanizing our neighbors by using photos of them on their worst days without their consent is unacceptable. We have a lot of work to do to address homelessness, but this only moves us further from that goal by othering real people in an attempt to score cheap political points.
