I think this is the plan, but also: Trump wants to release a bunch of stuff with Democrats' names in it. If he does that, he's admitting they're not being investigated. People shouldn't crap on this. Epstein is one of the only Trump scandals that the MSM is willing to give drumbeat coverage to. Tying the story of the day to the larger scandal is smart.

In any previous era, a president wouldn't have been able to get away with this because reporters would treat it as a huge scandal and would keep it in the news day after day until the president had to back off. Those days are gone. Reporters now note the massive corruption as a bland aside.
