The Chicago Police Department spent 22% more in 2024 than it did in 2019, records show. Pressed by Ald. Anthony Quezada, CPD Supt. Larry Snelling says officers will not warn Chicagoans that federal immigration agents are present, saying that would amount to one law enforcement agency “interfering” with another law enforcement agency. Quezada disagrees.
