I refuse to accept the politics of segregation and separation. When hate happens to anyone, it happens to all of us. Antisemitism is pernicious and threatens Chicagoans, that's why I've worked to dedicate additional resources to areas where the Jewish community has been most vulnerable.

Could you imagine if we tried to tell small businesses that we're taking back grant money we already gave them? If that sounds absurd, then why should we steal back raises that we already passed for tipped workers?

Democrats have to listen to what working people in Chicago are calling for. I will not abandon phasing out the sub-minimum wage for tipped workers at a time when Trump's wars and tariffs are making it increasingly difficult to live and raise a family throughout the city and country.

For generations the sub-minimum wage has been used as a means of suppressing the wages of workers, particularly women of color. This year we celebrate Women’s History Month by fighting to uphold the One Fair Wage ordinance and preserve justice and relief which has been denied to our service workers.
