Love to be grateful (??) we canceled our vacation to France because of my husband's recovery from hip surgery so we get to be here to put my cat down. 2026 can kick rocks, quite frankly!!!

...to be clear, American conservative right is a much graver danger to good public education. But as long as their opposition (left, democrats, whatever) sees education primarily as a mechanism for workforce development, measured by mass testing and highly prescriptive curricula, both can be bad.

The BBC's own reporting includes the fact that hundreds of masked fascists yelled 'foreigners out' and yet the story is about how 'one MP says people targeted based on skin colour.' It's just that one MP is saying it. It's not that that's literally what happened.

To our dismay, the artist and author Marjane Satrapi has passed away. As she wrote, ordinary Americans and Iranians have more in common with each other than we do with either of our governments, which have far too much in common with each other. We honor her memory and oppose the war.

just to make this clear, trans people are being killed in increasing numbers, women, men, nonbinary or gender nonconforming, in the United States. this is happening and cis people seemingly don’t even realize (presuming they are open to caring, which many are fairly skeptical of that possibility).
