Looking at the shitshow in Winston-Salem/Forsyth County Schools in NC, and something I see everywhere in the country is the massive difference an increase of the pension discount rate could make. In this case, a one percent increase could yield the district more than $200m in savings.

I did Oxford-style debate in high school. I was good at it. Third speaker, so tearing down the other side was my job. We were good, too. Made regionals—rare for a public school. What I learned is that "debate" is a rhetorical art that has nothing to do with anything except winning.
