Someone on here said a while ago that the only way Labour can win the next election is to put rejoin in their manifesto, redivide the country along brexit lines, and get all the votes from the 60% or so who want to reverse the 2016 vote.

Everyone involved in these organisations who isn't a TER needs to stop participating in them immediately. The WI and Girl Guides are done now. They are hate groups. That's it. Set up an alternative one. Leave the transphobes to hang out with each other.

Because of Brexit, the exchequer “will lose the thick end of £100bn in tax revenues this year” Far from having to raise £26bn in extra taxes, Rachel Reeves could have raised spending on health, defence, infrastructure, etc and still had money to spare…

Brexit: the trillion pound ‘mistake’
The recent NBER report suggests the Treasury’s 2016 analysis – slammed by Brexiters as a ‘hoax’– actually understated the impact of Brexit

My carefully considered, nuanced and balanced policy view is that we should tax gambling profits, including sports betting, at like 98% and one executive's kidney per quarter. I'm not sure having every UK mainstreet be three quarters Ladbrokes is good, actually.

Love this accepted mantra of "you can't tax your way to growth"... Yes you can, and it's what happened in every developed nation during the high point of the mid 20th century when growth was consistently higher than the last 45 years of low tax low spend neoliberalism.

At least it's honest, right? Intrusive questioning of women who don't conform to norms about how they should look, and women then being banned if they tell their inquisitor to mind his own sodding business, has always been the logical end point for the patriarchal project that is TERFdom.

Franklin was no victim in how the DNA double helix was solved. An overlooked letter and an unpublished news article, both written in 1953, reveal that she was an equal player.

Should Gibb be sacked? yes, obviously. He's an abomination of basic journalistic standards. His GB News channel spreads conspiracy theory & disinformation. His Jewish Chronicle newspaper spreads invented stories. He is plainly trying to undermine the BBC so it's as bad as everything else he touches.

The BBC should serve as an example to all that there is nothing you can give the far rabid right that will satisfy it. It has simpered, pandered, soft-balled and fluff-jobbed, both-sidesed and debased itself into being a platform for liars to look down the camera and lie on, & it still gets fucked.

The thing about the Overton window is that it just shifts by default if you let people propose insane policies like removing people with indefinite leave to remain without robust challenge. It doesn't just go away, it slowly leaks into the mainstream water supply unless you properly hose it down.
