I was fascinated with it when the very early, completely incomprehensible visual models started cropping up, even played with them a bit. Then I found out how they're made, and what they are being made to DO, and that was that.

Sonic Unleashed is a game with two faces: a split identity between good and evil. We tend to rip out these faces and plant them under a microscope, divorcing them from their context. Along the way, I think we've missed that these faces belong to the same person; the same game. And it kicks ass.
