Twice today people at work have scheduled meetings with me and then not bothered to show up or inform me that they couldn’t make it. So annoying. Not like I haven’t got a mountain of stuff to do otherwise.

After a few years I’ve finally made it back to my favourite Japanese restaurant in London, Abeno Okonomiyaki. They have a nice selection of Japanese whiskies at quite a reasonable price.

In Porto, Portugal. Trying a port from the year after I was born and then was given a taster of a port from the year I was born. So much cheaper than a whisky the same age as me. A few hundred compared to multiple thousands.

Bought these two bottles of sake from Kanpai Sake taproom in London last month. The Kura is aged for a year in white burgundy and another in red burgundy barrels. The Sumi is their flagship junmai. Both were equally delicious and great examples of top quality sake. kanpai.london

Made a long overdue visit to Cut Your Wolf Loose in Brighton yesterday. Had 3 drams, but this 17yo Speyside (allegedly Glenfarclas) was my favourite. Stone fruits, menthol, chocolate and chestnuts on the nose. On the palate was black cherry, fruit cake, golden syrup and parsley.
