I often have to go to Logan Square for work stuff and Metra->Blue costs me $12.50 round-trip and bus->Blue costs me $4.75 for the same round-trip, a 2.6x cost multiplier.

Love when the protected bike lane disappears for a loading zone/hotel valet spot and then turns into a pedestrian walkway around sidewalk construction. Washington east of Dearborn as always

Very encouraging that a lot more though seems to be going into the layout of the 606 extension over the river than in renderings by the previous developer.

Imagine getting off the bus at this stop on a major arterial street in Chicago. The ramp comes down and you roll off with a wheelchair or walker. I use this stop often with my kids. The packed ice is about 4 inches thick. The trampled boot path is around 12 inches wide.

So not only does the massive transit package passed last night fill the funding gap, it *boosts* ops funding by roughly the size of the gap, eliminates parking minimums within a half mile of rail stations, and gives the new regional transit board sweeping powers to do public development
