Last night was the last home buyout of 2025. It was a cold one but 4 brave souls biked across Chicago to pickup 250 tamales and distribute them to folks on the street. That’s over $5k and 1,780 tamales in the last 2 weeks alone. Stay tuned for our 2025 wrapped!!

Tuesday continued with purchases of 680 tamales, we filled every community fridge we could find and lots of hungry Chicagoans on our rides home. My favorite part is that every buyout is a new combination of cyclists from the beautiful #BikeChi community. ✊🏽🫶🏽🚲 Tonight is 150 cheesecakes 🍰

Can’t stop, won’t stop. While traversing through the Loop, spotted a vendor with her nina. Bought her out. She asked if I could help her friends. She called 2 more little ninos from different corners. Bought them out. Spotted another candy vendor, bought her out. ✊🏽🫶🏽

Last night we picked up 10 dozen tamales and lots of snacks and drinks and passed them out all over Little Village and Pilsen, stopping by one of our favorite Love Fridges. Tonight we pick up 680 tamales from Hermosa/Belmont Cragin as our Christmas Giveaway Rides continue!

Tonight was the last night we had home buyouts scheduled this week. No pictures taken tonight so enjoy this soothing video from our buyout earlier this week. Imagine a steadfast tamale vendor handing me 10 dozen tamales and excited teenagers at a youth shelter asking me where they all came from.

Tonight we picked up 196 tamales from 2 vendors and passed them out from Pilsen to West Garfield Park and then to one of our favorite Love Fridges. ❤️

With ICE back in Chicago terrorizing our communities and kidnapping our neighbors, we called an emergency buyout this morning. We bought out 6 vendors, over $1,000, filled a Love Fridge and lots of food to homies on the street. We keep us safe. ✊🏽

40 dozen tamales, over $1,300 cash to street vendors, and food to the community. Highlight of the night: spotted a cotton candy vendor outside a grocery store so we bought everything he had and sent him home with a dozen tamales. This is mutual aid. This is #BikeChi ✊🏽🫶🏽🚲

I told my organizers we needed to get as much cash as possible to vendors before the holidays. They responded by scheduling 5 home buyouts in the next 3 days. That’s 776 tamales and over $2,000. And we still have next week. 🫔 🫔🫔🫔🫔🚲🚲🚲🚲🚲

Last night was our latest home buyout, $300 worth of candy and snacks, then we spotted a vendor out in the cold and rain and bought all his chips and elotes passed them out to folks taking shelter in the library. Tonight we’re buying 20 dozen tamales. Ride Bikes. Chicago Winters. Spread Joy. 🤙🏽

I could buy a $12,000 bike every year to equal the average annual cost of car ownership. $3,500 is a helluva deal.

I jest but there’s a special place in our hearts for Indy. We lived there for 12yrs, met in prison, and have many fond memories. Our weekend back for a wedding and we had exactly 2 sites to visit…
