15 years (nearly) since my first idea for a funny film trailer made it on to BBC Radio (7!), and I've finally got round to revisiting Geordie Batman. This time in poster form. Made partially with A.I. or should that be "Why Aye"

I've long been of the suspicion that, on a purely aesthetic level of appreciation, few people on the planet have less of an interest in music than Simon Cowell.

Coincidentally, I meant to post about this song yesterday. If you listen to Charmed Life (2004) directly before listening to Invisible Thread (2025), it has a hell of an impact.

A producer told me once she has to warn young crewmembers to avoid being alone with Aykroyd. "Not because he's a creep, he's a gentleman. But if you let him strike up a conversation the next thing we know all the PAs will be huddled in his dressing room learning how humans evolved from dolphins."

Spinal Tap 2 The End Continues is absolutely brilliant. A joy from start to finish. I laughed, cried and everyone clapped at the end. If you're a super fan of the original then you will LOVE it.

Journalists, I was taught, should retain a degree of healthy scepticism, rigour and questioning. That doesn’t mean rudeness or unfairness, it just means keeping a distance from what they are describing/commenting on in order to let the audience decide on its merits or otherwise.

I have never been so disappointed in a BBC piece. Breathless admiration is, as far as I knew, not the role of the BBC’s political editor when describing a party political conference. Description+detail yes, rigorous examination of the conference content, yes. This, absolutely no, in my opinion.

Chris Mason: Reform conference shows party's growing ambition like never before
The conference feels like that of a big party - but retains the insurgency vibe that the party is seeking to channel.
