Minnesota folks, if you can spend some time I suggest reading some of these entries. ICE wants us to be afraid, to feel overwhelmed, to feel isolated. We are not alone. We have each other, and the whole rest of the world. There are SO MANY PEOPLE everywhere who see us, who know, who care.

Why do our brains have to be full of fascism instead of weird medieval guys?

"Just stay cool and don't make trouble until the midterms" is not going to cut it as an opposition response to a murderous regime whose masked thugs are killing people in the streets and then attempting to round up witnesses and destroy evidence.

A lot of the media has messed up in describing all of these folks who are observing as protesters, they’re neighbors who quickly come out of their homes to document ICE presence knowing that their privilege is the only thing possibly standing in the way of a neighbor being disappeared or brutalized.

Yall outside of MN need to know that observers are STILL out protecting their neighbors. Right now. They know the news and they’re still out there.

ICE is now responsible for 66% of the homicides in Minneapolis this year.

All of this is fucking senseless. Minnesota did not have an immigration problem. Trump sent his Nazi thugs here because he's racist against Somali people and to own libs like Tim Walz. Now two Minnesotans are dead and Minneapolis is on the verge of going up in flames. None. Of. This. Was. Necessary.

BREAKING: The Tribune confirmed on Instagram that the man shot has died, according to two sources with knowledge of the incident. ICE attempted to order local police from the scene, but Chief Brian O'Hara refused, sources also told the Tribune. O'Hara instructed his officers to preserve the scene.

I see folks outside MN lauding how organized we are & all I can say is: THIS IS IT. This is the whole organizing principle. You ask what you wish someone was doing & then you DO THAT THING. It doesn't matter if it's perfect or even enough. Just do it. Find other people doing it & do it with them.

This is one of the very rare times where no matter what lens you use (moral, political, logical, financial, liberal, conservative, whatever) the answer is the same. This is not partisan. This is human. This is a failed operation. End it. Now.

Once again: Focusing on their lack of training is a mistake. With "better training," their violence would simply cost more, and they would still kill whoever they wanted, but make it look more professional — to make people more comfortable, the way many of you are at ease with local police violence.

I think they might mistake our courage and our solidarity for a lack of fear, and that if they can make us scared enough we'll make ourselves small. That won't work, because we're all terrified and we're SHOWING UP ANYWAY with love and compassion and joy and care.

I wish I hadn't watched that video. I never watched the killing of Renee Good and hope I never have to. I don't need to see it to fight it. Today at least four federal agents were beating a man and then one of them (I think) shot him point blank while he was on the ground. More agents present.

ICE has now carried out two summary executions of innocent people in the streets of an American city. If you work for ICE, there's no denying that's the mission you're supporting now. You don't get to claim in one year or ten or twenty that you didn't know what ICE was doing. You're complicit.

the problem ain't a question of them being untrained

ICE just shot another one of my neighbors. They had the person on the ground, being beaten by several agents, and then fired multiple shots. In front of the donut shop where we like to get donuts for our kids.

Respectfully, I am going to whisper to some of our white comrades a truth that should be more widely known: You definitely have some ancestors to be proud of, ancestors who refused white supremacy, and poured out their lives in many of these struggles over time. Time to claim your true history.

Spouse and I went to Pooja yesterday with nothing in particular we needed. Left with like $80 in snacks and Y'ALL I'M SO EXCITED I GOT LIKE 4 KINDS OF ICE CREAM including fig. Honestly 10/10 great life decision, will repeat at other grocery stores as often as possible.

Yup. The actual "protests" are rare. They're happening, but they're not the main story. The main story is Will Stancil chasing down ICE agents in his Honda, people across the city doing grocery runs for neighbors no questions asked, people dropping everything they're doing to respond to whistles.

There's this thing in MN where we're well aware that people see this place as the butt of jokes and as a place with terrible weather. We mostly like it that way, because it keeps the crowds out. But when someone comes here and they *get it,* they're ours now. They're one of us.
