Some people are downplaying this as "just using it for storyboards" I don't know how to break it to you, but we already have a means to make those, its called storyboard artists and you pay them a wage. I cannot stomach how little some artists will think of other artists and their livelihoods.

The team aspect of animation is by far my favorite part. Sitting in a pitch room w/ the whole crew cracking up during a pitch is so fun & special. Helping out on record days w/ the recording crew & voice actors. Seeing ideas you pitched to the showrunners make it to final. Why forsake that?

Make art from your soul and never stop, no one can take that from you no matter what. If you wanna make something cool then do it even if its just for you!

So often people show me their pitches for shows and I think it looks cool but I get an uncollaborative vibe from them. So many people want to have a show, fewer want to MAKE a show. They want the product, not the job. And that skill and passion is 200x more important when pitching than the idea.

The animation chat has me thinking one telling thing - in the years since AI arrived, there's not been a ground-up indie phenomenon, like we saw with earlier tech (Flash, etc). It hasn't unlocked anyone's creativity. For all the anti-gatekeeping rhetroic, nothing anyone cares about has been born.
