The Mountain might be some of Gorillaz best work yet. I'd say the instrumentals is its greatest strength; not just production value, but its thematic cohesion as well. Its polished, richly layered, perfectly interlocked world music elements create the feel of an encompassed, fully realized location.

GOAT is well worth a watch. While the writing and humor leave a little to be desired [ à la WIR2 / The Emoji Movie ], it's negligible compared to how lovely the film is. Exceptional art direction, character design, and animation.

Circling back to this, because I'm STILL riled up This (and every) dumbed down, sugarcoated adaptation was NEVER made "for kids". It was made to coddle and placate sensitive, reactionary, misperceptive adults who are too dumb and afraid to think critically or feel deeply about the world around them

This is like adapting Grapes Of Wrath into a film about actual grapes
