Every ballpark should offer a scorecard and a pencil for less than $2. It's the best souvenir in the park and it's wild to me that a lot of MLB teams either don't sell a standalone scorecard or force you to buy a $15-20 program for it.

MLB's tech regulation plans give itself full control over who can do business with baseball. And I learned an AI scouting firm â founded by the uncle of an exec in Rob Manfredâs inner circle â may win a bid. Team sources and antitrust experts told me it creates a conflict of interest. NEW from me:

MLB Teams Fear League Will Pick Winners and Losers in Tech
The league is taking control of the choosing of tech partners, rather than leaving it up to teams; one firm under consideration was founded by a top MLB execâs uncle.

Rob Reiner was so beloved that his most memorable film character was, at heart, an incredibly brutal parody of Martin Scorsese, literally the most untouchable director in Hollywood, and it was like "it's Meathead, he's allowed."

A Few Good Men. Best in Show. A Mighty Wind. Miss Congeniality. Barcelona. All three movies in Linklater's "Before" trilogy. Music & Lyrics. Michael Clayton. All films that were able to be made because of the production company Reiner co-founded in order to give talented filmmakers creative freedom.

Taking a break from the sickening tragedy to focus on the beauty for a moment. Rob Reiner achieved something so rare and coveted that artists and entertainers dream of and rarely achieve: cultural permanence. How many times have you made a reference to something going to 11? Shouted "Inconceivable"?

Rob Reiner made some great movies but he was also unafraid to speak the truth, and was one of the public voices who knew you donât squander your platform, and only got louder about opposing evil fucks as he got older. Legend.

Rob Reiner directed some of the most beloved movies of all time, including Stand By Me, This is Spinal Tap, and The Princess Bride. His production company also made movies like The Shawshank Redemption, Before Sunrise and Michael Clayton. The film industry has lost one of its titans.

He's also responsible for raising all the money that paid for bringing Hollingsworth v. Perry & even more importantly Bostic v. Schaefer, which created the circuit split that forced SCOTUS to take on Obergefell v. Hodges. The role he played in American marriage equality cannot be overstated.

Rob Reiner was a good guy. He made a lot of movies about good guys, in worlds where not everyone was good and you didnât have to be good. He made movies about people trying. He was angry, as many hopeful people are. He knew the world could be better and he wanted it to be. His death is devastating.

As will be noted over and over in the coming days, the *beginning* of his directing career was SPINAL TAP, THE SURE THING, THE PRINCESS BRIDE, STAND BY ME, A FEW GOOD MEN, MISERY and WHEN HARRY MET SALLY. That is an absolutely *amazing* run with quite a lot of variety.

people like gavin newsom want you to think it's "normal" to hate and exclude trans people and to trample on homeless people. it is not, it is abnormal to be full of venom. society is a cooperative, people who sow discord with the marginalized are the ones who need to be fixed.

Either you understand that there is an organized campaign to push trans people out of public life with the explicit end goal of "morally mandating us out of existence" that is backed by some of the wealthiest individuals to have ever lived, or you're simply not equipped to grasp what's happening.

A college student complaining about a grade on a paper is not national news. Not even close. The details have minimal import outside the class itself. Well-funded political activists targeting profs and TAsâin this case because they're transâwith the help of elected state officials? National issue.
