I just heard someone say on TV that use of the term "concentration camps" to describe ICE facilities was "very strong language." I think ICE's concentration camps are very strong abuses of human rights.

Law enforcement officers have always been unmasked in this country until ICE started wearing them last year. *That* is the departure from norms. *That* is the step too far.

ICE activity has not noticeably tapered off yet here and in fact this week they seem to be focused on terrorizing kids at bus stops and schools.

I think both calling for abolishing ICE is fine and casting what ICE is doing as inherent to immigration enforcement is an extremely bad idea because if you frame the choice as "open borders or this" lots of people will choose this. It also just isn't true, Canada has borders and IRCC don't do this

There are many places to get news beyond CBS. But the undermining of outlets with really strong journalism infrastructures is a real loss for the public. You can't stand up a new 60 Minutes tomorrow. Same for the Washington Post foreign desk (if it get cuts as rumored.)
