I live in Minnesota and I want the federal government to stop trying to kill us. And hurt us. I want them to stop attacking us. It sucks. We’re just trying to live our lives and take care of each other and we don’t deserve all this. I kid around sometimes here but I’m not kidding now.

While I could never have been an Olympian at anything, Alysa Liu’s refreshing do it for herself and for joy attitude brought back memories of the time my high school tennis coach told me and my doubles partner he was not giving us letters because we had too much fun and should have been more serious

I need to address this immediately, because I am WAY too Minnesotan to ever claim credit for this. I built a thing to point the fire hose of people's generosity in the right direction. That's it. I am thankful for the piece, because hopefully it means people will donate more money.

Minneapolis isn't an especially sweary place but there are so many houses that have homemade "FUCK ICE" signs and I've had multiple conversations with parents about how we're okay with our kids using that word in this context because sometimes it IS okay to swear and this is one of those times.

I wanted to reup this Saint Paul Public Schools Housing Assistance Fund since it’s close to the end of the month. According to them, as of today, the Fund has requests from 174 families facing eviction, totaling $231K needed by the end of the month, and are about $63K short of meeting the need.

No doubt the finish stings for Peterson and Casper. But if you would have told me a month ago the USA would have one team medal, another team make the playoffs, and a third team miss the playoffs by one game, I would have told you these Olympics were an unmitigated success.

I know Minnesotans filming ICE in their bathrobes is becoming a bit of a thing, but after you laugh, let it dawn on you that people here hate ICE so much that we rush out half-dressed to film even when there are already dozens of others doing the same thing.

Olympics side note: We are lucky enough to be in Cortina for the Olympics, and everyone we have met (from many countries!) who learns we are from Minnesota has supported us with some version of “we know the American people are not the US government and we are sorry this is happening to you”.

Like 75% of the US Olympic curlers are from Minnesota. A lot of them curl out of two clubs in Saint Paul, one club is in Frogtown, a neighborhood that has been very heavily targeted by ICE. These curlers are good neighbors.
