Rewatching VICTOR/VICTORIA, a movie I got turned on to after hearing @drewmcweeny.com and @weinbergs.bsky.social champion it on '80s All Over, and I'm forever grateful because it's one of the best comedies of that decade

Still thinking about Alison Oliver in Wuthering Heights

VERTIGO is my favorite Hitchcock movie I also love the Gus Van Sant PSYCHO I have good takes and bad takes and QT doesn't get to have opinions on any of them

The magical part is that QT doesn't have to believe that you love a movie, you still get to love it and he's the only one who loses out in this scenario

My hot take: if you’re okay with Cronenberg turning Burroughs’ novel NAKED LUNCH into the 1991 film, you shouldn’t have some principled stance against whatever the hell Emerald Fennell did with WUTHERING HEIGHTS.

I get that it’s a poor adaptation (so I’m told) and that liking it makes me a bad person but I really dug WUTHERING HEIGHTS, no one more surprised than me

This is the first Friday the 13th in years I haven't rewatched a single movie in my favorite horror franchise and I don't really even feel like it, I think I'm fully broken

NARROW MARGIN has everything: Gene Hackman barking at people, train action, Peter Hyams’ incredible direction, and both M. Emmett AND JT Walsh, a total gem
