The BBC has already referred to a newly elected MSP as "trans identifying" because they can't acknowledge one section of Scotland might be fully human. This will be the first most or all of the Scottish political press in Edinburgh will have met a trans person. Their demonisation didn't work.

I believe the Real Greens have just been IGV'd out of a second seat in Mid Scotland and Fife. Huge questions for Electoral Commission to answer after two elections of this.

Sky News projecting a national vote share for Reform of 27%, based on results so far. That’s four points down on what they achieved in local elections last year. Somewhat of a counter to the prevailing narrative. More evidence that Reform appears to have peaked.

Local election results are trickling in and we're already seeing the chaotic effects of First Past the Post. In Wandsworth, the Tories are the biggest party and are one seat away from a majority on just 31% of the vote. Meanwhile, Labour got 34% of the vote - and fewer seats.

In Richmond upon Thames, the Lib Dems won EVERY SINGLE SEAT - all 54 of them - on 51% of the vote. This means 49% of voters got no representation whatsoever. That's First Past the Post for you.

In Wigan, Reform got 46% of the vote. That gave them 96% of the seats that were up for election. First Past the Post is not fit for purpose.

FPTP is a shambles. Apparently in Wandsworth the Conservatives got more seats than Labour with fewer votes. Many other areas with ludicrous outcomes. @makevotesmatter.bsky.social

Good to see Guy Lambert keep a seat on the council in Hounslow as a Green. He was formerly Labour and always seemed to do a good job locally.

As we see results of the local elections across England continue to come in, it’s clear that First Past the Post is failing voters – with some councils bearing little resemblance to how people actually voted. It doesn’t need to be this way. It’s time to scrap First Past the Post in England.

Well, I'm glad Labour are getting kicked in the teeth but also if you're going to vote in Reform now is the time to do it so you can see how incompetent they are in power.
