Why is UK rail travel like this? We live just south of Cambridge. A small local station (Foxton) is the stop before Cambridge. Foxton to Newmarket return: £24 Cambridge to Newmarket return: £16. £8 extra to travel, barely 5 miles? So instead we'll drive to Cambridge. More traffic, not less.
