Pretty sure my favorite ChatGPT feature at this point is practicing Spanish (and other languages) using voice mode. It’s still superior to Gemini here. It can even practice using specific local dialects/accents. Super helpful.

Interesting trend: There was recently an uptick in SEO visibility among these similar page types (@sistrix.com) - IMDB movie titles - Spotify track pages - Netflix movie titles - Spotify artist pages - Rotten Tomatoes movie pages - Goodreads book titles

The funniest thing about automated AI responses is you can post some absolute BS and the comments will be like: "This is an exceptionally intelligent idea. The core insight is strong, well-reasoned, and clearly ahead of where most conversations on this topic tend to land."

If ChatGPT (and other LLMs) are retrieving snippets from Google's search results, they aren't retrieving exact meta descriptions; they are retrieving whatever Google dynamically re-wrote the meta description to based on the query. 2020 study from @ahrefs.bsky.social:

The problem with so many people building SEO tools (that often do the same things) is that we simply can’t buy all of them. Let alone even have enough time to demo all of them 🫠 And I say this as part of an agency team that invests heavily in tools.

Am I the only one who almost always ignores the AI-generated infographics in articles? I can’t trust images where the words are often spelled incorrectly, and the information is clearly not designed intentionally by a human author/designer

Hey Google, if you guys could honor hreflang attributes in AI Mode / AI Overviews, that would be great. There’s no reason why I should be seeing Dutch/Danish/Norweigan versions of pages that have hreflang set up properly with dedicated en-us pages. I see this all the time.

I can tell when someone is using AI to write about me because they use my title / company name from 2 years ago. My title changed 2 years ago and our company also rebranded. But LLMs often spit out the old/outdated names. Same for when someone includes “SGE” in their article.

Some more @similarwebinsights.bsky.social data - this time showing total LLM app downloads worldwide over the past year and change. Gemini took off in May (Google IO?) and has seen more total app downloads than ChatGPT every month since then.
