July 2nd, 1982: A Los Angeles man, Larry Walters, took off from his backyard in a lawn chair attached to 42 Army surplus weather balloons. Lawnchair Larry ascended to 16,000 feet and descended by shooting out the balloons with a pellet gun. He was fined by the FAA.

What I would love to see in the Greens tax discussion: 1. Repeated comparisons to other countries. NZers are very insecure and we need to be told that everyone else already has tax-free thresholds, wealth taxes, inheritance taxes; the phrase “it’s a bit embarrassing” is NZ kryptonite.
