I am assuming that candidates who want to go back in time and relitigate decisions made by previous councils they weren’t elected to, only want to change decisions they disagree with and not ones they agree with? This is ridiculous and shows a basic misunderstanding of local govt

Just to clarify, there is not another decision required on the City to Sea Bridge, and the decision to do this work was made well in advance of local body elections (last year). Subject to any appeal (which should be signalled this week), there is no other barrier to proceeding.

My two ward colleagues voted against changes today to enable bendy buses in Karori - buses that will increase capacity, reliability & comfort for nearly 10,000 users a day. They passed anyway, but disappointing for Karori bus users to be let down by their own representatives.

Our lawyers just confirmed that the court made an order by consent for costs of $15,023.60 to WCC from Live Wellington. To date, we have received an initial payment of $674.04 towards these costs. These people need to stop holding our city back and costing Wellingtonians.

Our sludge minimisation project has had an independent review of the budget to complete, two gateway reviews and a third to come in November, an internal project team reset will happen very soon, and a full independent review on completion. There is no shortage of scrutiny.

One small correction: we didn’t pause review of land ratings this term cause too hard or anything to do with amalgamation (which is a total red herring imho). We paused because we have a small finance team and they had to do an LTP amendment.
