This post from old mate Henry is the NZ mainstream media in a nutshell. They'll selectively show us the small gathering of cooker protesters, but not the absolutely massive line of people waiting to see Ardern. Those protesters represent a pathetically small and toxic minority of the population.

Digging deeper into the report it's clear that most of the support for the SH1 "improvements" is coming from people living in areas that won't be directly impacted. Central, southern and eastern Wellington residents don't want this shit imposed on our city.

There’s always a non-zero amount of poop in the water. The best way to check whether it’s currently at safe levels is via LAWA: here’s a Wellington-specific link.

Wellington! I’ve been working on something cool with a couple of lovely collaborators. Good Luck Craft Club is a monthly craft meetup for artists of Asian descent in the Wellington region. Central CBD locations, ticketed workshops, BYOC(bring your own craft) and a community craft box.

Someone needs to explain to the Stuff editorial team that the word for non-productive members of society who rent out commercial buildings is “landlord”, and that “cycle lane” is what we call a lane for bicyclists and nothing to do with property speculation.

Almost every “beloved Wellington business closes” has been about landlords. Even the ones about businesses struggling because of fewer people working in Wellington have been because the landlord does not care and will not help.

Plus the issue isn’t the capacity of the bypass and tunnel, it’s the number of cars. Reduce the number of cars and the “problem” goes away without having to destroy even more of the city.

Luke's opinion is trash, and The Post should be embarrassed to even publish it. Billions of dollars to save some people a few minutes on a commute that isnt really that bad - while we have thousands out of work, thousands starving. We dont need more roads. End of story.
