noticed a trend this week where both the right and some liberals have been like "just realized the left actually means what they say about stuff"

and this week they're pushing to include more funding for ICE when every poll shows overwhelming support for abolishing it. the democratic party isn't a political movement, it's a business model and they prefer to advertise from a minority position. they choose to lose so they can pick your pocket.

A reality hard to convey to those outside communities on the front lines. So many of us wanted to just be ourselves, but the realities of poverty, oppression and injustice are vast and brutal. So trans people organize and fight. We have to. We're radical because we can't turn away from the truth.

I'm not saying be violent. I'm saying be ready *for* violence. Look at any historical dictatorship, including the US' own past with the Civil Rights Movement, Black Panthers, Stonewall, etc. The violence will come to you, and nonviolence in response only ever gets you so far. Be ready for more.

Reminder: Nonviolence has its use cases, but it can't be the only tool in a revolutionary toolbox. It works until it doesn't, and you need to be able to switch to something else at a moment's notice once that happens. The US gov't is well-prepared. You need to be too.
