As I said to a reporter last week, maybe we talk too much about Musk as the first trillionaire and not enough about him as the last one.

My friend, they ARE Democrats. YOUR version of Democrats are being eclipsed. The Dem socialists aren’t like MAGA or Tea Party in any set of beliefs but the idea of pushing harder away from trying to please the centrists is very compelling to people and can win elections.

What if a handful of Congressional primaries were not deciding the entire fate of a national political party? What if they were, in fact, deciding on a party's nominee for that district specifically?

I don’t know man, who is “the Democratic Party” if it’s not the voters?Democratic voters choose candidates, not party leaders. And party leaders need to listen to what voters are telling us - and right now they are demanding our party be bolder.

Incumbent Democrats haven't done much to stop Republicans from destroying this country, etc., and so the Democratic voters in their districts chose candidates who promised that they would, in fact, stop Republicans. That's precisely why there were primary challenges. This isn't complicated.

NPR is calling the Mamdani-backed candidates “far left” which I guess is shorthand for “would like to give healthcare to their constituents somewhat”

as a committed centrist, it saddens me that both parties are falling captive to their extremes - the right to insurrectionist cultists who want to invade american cities, and the left to socialists who want better bus service

What’s funny is that with low early-voting turnout, local headlines were asking whether Mamdani had the juice. Turns out motivated voters count for more.

this is what is insane abt this case and these sentences. this isn't a sandwich throw. real violence happened here. a cop got shot. but by framing the protest as a conspiracy people who literally were uninvolved in the violence got de facto life sentences

One of my "favorite" dumb Musk things is his deeply held belief that other people aren't real. One of his first moves after taking over Twitter was to try to fire "ghost employees," of which he thought they were many. He's a murderous bigot but he also thinks Fake People are robbing him blind.

Conflating AIPAC and American Jewry writ large is very much an antisemitic talking point. Very cool to see that the Anti-Defamation League is now mindlessly parroting hardcore antisemites instead of trying to undermine them.
