Hey, Autism is not a disease. While not all Autistics have food aversion, it is found in a lot of Autistic and neurodivergent folk. If you want to stick it to the people sharing and celebrating the spreading of misinformation about Autism, share stuff made by Autistic folk. Like my book:

My friend is about to visit me and it turns out that to get into the UK they now needed to download an app for her application, and the app only runs on a new enough phone. It just gives out a message that you should "get a friend or relative to download it". They have to be in the same room as you

You guys, so many Romance girlies are reading "On Tyranny" that they've broken the Goodreads recommendations algorithm. 10/10; no notes.

Some of my best clothes I found next to skips out in the pouring rain. My good leather boots and now some proper work trousers. I've also got some of my sister's old clothes from her contractor work. All that stuff is just the best when it's worn in

Looking at original art is important because it helps you realize that the original art does not matter in cartooning. It’s all about the printed final piece. Aiming for a a clean and neat original is a hindrance. Just make sure the black lines end up where there are supposed to.

Start using your public libraries. ACTIVELY REQUEST books by marginalized communities so libraries know the demand & can buy them. Use your NOTIFY ME tags in Libby. CHECK OUT books (electronic and physical) by marginalized authors. Circulation numbers and holds are critical for us.

On the train back to Brighton. Scotland was good. I already fell asleep for an hour, absolutely ready to do nothing at all tomorrow. Got a bottle of Irn Bru, and a reusable bag full of apples from the goethe institute yard tree. Good times

Taught a class of Scottish eleven year olds to fold zines and left them all drawing comics about characters they improvised together. Reminded the teacher that they now have the means to set up editorial teams and self publish.

Asking for an author’s book at a library is a wonderful thing to do. The library buys the book, maybe even multiple copies, which really does help authors. A simple request can spread a lot of good around. Also I just love libraries and I’m always happy when someone checks out one of my books. 📚

I just noticed that what I really want to do is find a venue in Brighton to do a regular zine club where we put open source software on old laptops and skill share to write, draw, lay out zines. I've been having a lot of fun setting up my own old laptop for that. Such a joy

The paper is 'Against the Uncritical Adoption of AI Technologies in Academia' and it's worth reading in full. It’s a great resource for educators, administrators and anyone concerned about AI in the classroom. And a great resource for those educators already eager to stand up to AI-happy admins.

I don't know about you but I'm so tired, deeply tired from this (necessary) stream of evidence against pathetic powerful guys and their soulless, predatory ways. Nasty little tyrants and hangers-on. All of that for some more money and status. How angry they get. How much protection they demand.

Today I'll be planning a tour of schools in Scotland with the Goethe Institute where I'll be reading I Am Henry Finch and then do a drawing workshop, all of next week. On the weekend I'll be doing a card game workshop. I've got stacks of blank cards and a tin of four sided dice.

I can’t recommend enough the power of switching mediums when you’re feeling stuck or insecure artistically. Heck, even just switching the brand/type of pen or pencil or brush you use can be enough to shake out the nerves and help drawing become fun again! ✍️
