Started playing Streets of Rage 4, and this game is so freaking pretty, man.

I have a hard time getting excited about another asymmetrical game based on a horror franchise, even if it’s my favorite horror series ever. That said, the presence of a single-player campaign has had me intrigued since day one, and I love how it seems to flesh out parts of the original Halloween.

Read the first issue of DC x Sonic the Hedgehog: Metal Legion. Between this and the first mini, I feel like a kid reading the Marvel/DC crossovers of the ‘90s. If you don’t have the biggest grin on your face reading these issues, you must hate comics.

It’s weird how this game’s post-launch support has been infinitely better than Mario Kart World’s.

Heard Platner’s interview with @chrislhayes.bsky.social last night. For someone that wants to be seen as an outsider, Platner’s answers all felt like a cliche politician, and it definitely sounds like more will come out. I thought Hayes did a nice job pushing back and trying to get him on record.

Saw Backrooms tonight. Ends too abruptly, but everything else is very good. Excellent atmosphere, and creepy throughout. Definitely in my top 5 horror flicks of 2026 so far.

I didn’t mind Darwin’s death in X-Men: First Class, because I assumed he’d be back in the sequel. It was just gonna be a fake out, like in his first appearance. I should have known better than to assume Fox would actually plan something out ahead of time.

Been watching Tales from the Crypt on a nightly basis. The quality really varies from episode to episode, but the acting talent in the series is wild. So many huge names in this show. Just watched the Lance Henriksen episode “Cutting Cards,” and I think that might be my new favorite.

I’ve said this a billion times over the last couple years, but it’s incredible that PlayStation has bought and closed so many studios while laying off entire staffs and it gets largely ignored by fans and the industry as a whole.

I keep seeing this take bouncing around, and it’s clear most of the people sharing it are either getting it wrong or don’t know the history. Team X is an established group Wolverine worked for before he joined the X-Men. The Wolverine game is set BEFORE he’s an X-Man. They show him meeting Jean.

I find it comforting that the widely shared journalism industry experience “being canned by a moron boss brought in from outside by other morons” extends all the way up to 60 Minutes. Media is still a blue collar field after all.

Every movie, game, and TV show set in the late ‘90s has failed to capture what it was really like, because no one is walking around quoting Austin Powers.

I can’t overstate how much I used to love telling people I worked for CBS. Yeah, I made fun of their crappy comedies, but it was such a cool company to work for. I literally went and saw Top Gun: Maverick just because I wanted to support Paramount. And they’ve destroyed the company in two years.

I think there’s about a 100% chance Konami’s Simpsons arcade game gets a rerelease with a bunch of NES/GB/Sega Simpsons games, probably within the next year or two. Hit & Run remaster also seems inevitable, just no idea when.

Oh wow, this is unexpected. The Genesis version of Toy Story was a lot of fun back in the day (definitely needed the infinite lives chest for R/C’s level alone), and Toy Story 3 was kind of a big deal; it was what led to Disney Infinity’s creation. Kinda cool this is happening.

I think about this a lot with television. There used to be “tv actors” and “movie actors.” And it’s great that the walls and stereotype of working in television have come down, but I also wonder if it’s a lot harder for someone to get a break through TV or commercials the way they once did.

If OoT Remake gets announced and it comes out around GTA6 I am coining the Barbenheimer dynamic of it as Ocarina of Crime.

A lot of people are justifiably concerned, but it’s worth noting that the only good movie Zack Snyder ever made was a remake of a movie that was already good. Maybe he’ll pull it off twice.

Solidarity means everything in situations like this, and this kind of thing generally just does not happen. Speaking from experience, these places bring in people unqualified for their jobs, and they go on firing sprees without remorse, but will do everything they can to avoid confrontation.

Oh, I’ve got another! A buddy meant to ask a Denny’s server for “an array of sauces” and said “beret,” instead. My other friend and I lost it, and kept teasing that he was going to get a hat filled with ranch and barbecue. We drifted apart, but “beret of sauces” still gets used among my family.

A bunch of my friends went to Cincinnati for a Bills game. Our one friend, known for consuming too much alcohol, consumed too much alcohol before the 7ish hour car ride, and *for reasons unknown* started using “boomtown” as slang. We were quickly annoyed, but also all saying it by trip’s end.
