Sometimes that invisible safety net is logistical, not financial, but still just as consequential. My spouse runs everything in the household: insurance, bills, groceries, etc. Every hour not spent on that adult minutiae is an hour I can spend on art, which makes me "faster" than a lot of my peers.

Forever irked at these toothless (no dragon pun intended, there), saccharine, dollar bin Warner Brothers reissue DVD covers that stray so far from the aesthetic of the movies inside. The Hobbit might be the worst example - look at the gorgeous screen grabs vs the WB cover.

I don't remember who initially proposed it (I don't think it was Sommers, I think it was long after the fact), but redoing all the Universal Monsters as horror-adjacent pulp adventures with Brendan Faser and Rachel Weisz, instead of doing mummy sequels and Van Helsing, would have been solid gold.

Well, the event is over, and the Mystery Shack has been put away. I've been nonstop since Saturday, including a trip to Holiday World in Indiana, traveling to NC to get a new vehicle and driving back, and making a mystery shack. I'm bushed!

Reasonably sure I'm not gonna get this all painted in the next hour and a half so I will probably go with a nighttime motif and only have the sign and parts of the roof with the lights would hit it illuminated

I sat in on INTO THE GREENWOOD to talk about one of my favorite Robin Hood movies: the 1991 eponymous McTiernan-produced Patrick Bergin offering that came out at the same time as Prince of Thieves, got overlooked as a result, and which has been considered the "good" early 90s Robin Hood ever since.
