I don't think it's even right to say the voting public doesn't care. I think the truth is a lot of voters may generally find trans identity moderately confusing but also *none of their business*. on the other hand, they find an obsession with harming trans people - say it with me - deeply weird.

Some BETTER LETTERER for you. And before the inevitable "that's not how I do it" replies, keep in mind that, by and large, this is how it's done in pro American comics (Marvel, DC, etc.) I've worked for all of them. More tips:

Today is the birthday of artist Violet Barclay, later Valerie Barclay (Nov. 5, 1922-Feb. 26, 2010). She joined the staff of Timely comics in 1942 & left in 1949 to become a freelancer. She pencilled & inked for several companies, particularly on romance titles.

I don’t know how many times I’ve watched this video. I don’t know how we’ve gotten to the point where men in full balaclavas can abduct daycare teachers while they’re watching children. But I do know that this isn’t sustainable. Abolish ICE. There is no way to reform this.

here is my story about how Zohran's focus on community amid the loneliness epidemic helped young people connect their politics to an organizing infrastructure, that interviewed ZM, and does not use the NYT's framing of "they don't know how to make friends" :-) and also ran 4 days before NYT's lol

A lot of Very Serious People will be pretending to be confused about What This All Means as a way to avoid the simple inconvenient reality: Voters like it when candidates are kind sincere non-weirdos who are passionate about big popular ideas that will actually help real people.

Two years ago I interviewed a 31-year-old NY state assemblymember about a 7-year-old girl killed by an SUV driver in his district. I hung up the phone, astonished that I'd talked to a legislator who so thoughtfully articulated what actually needs to change on our streets. He'll make a great mayor

They aren't afraid of Mamdani, they are worried about what he would unleash among VOTERS. That those voters would say: "actually, we're not buying this centrist bullshit you've been shoveling for decades, we want something else." That's what's being litigated in these Dem elites are worried essays.

Zohran picked 「卓蘭」("excellent orchid") for his first name and「夸梅」("brilliant plum") for his middle name. The orchid and the plum are among "The Four Noble Ones" in traditional Chinese art, the former symbolizing an indifference to fame and fortune, the latter an indomitable, incorruptible spirit.
