Although cohesin-sensitive, long-range enhancer activation is equivalent in nature to proximal activation. Cooperativity can arise from different levels of activation inputs operating on a non-linear response function.

The supermarket that I shop at employs mentally challenged. They are greeters, baggers, and perform other functions. They are normally pleasant and happy to have a purpose. I like shopping there, it's a reminder that there's room in this world for all of us.

I’ve always said that submitting a grant proposal is an exercise in hope—not just in terms of being funded, but as a symbol of what it means to dream big and ask exciting questions. Despite everything happening to federal science over the last year, I’m holding on to that hope. Proposal submitted.

The data is in: the NIH goalposts have shifted. What were once almost certain fundable scores have become coin flips and what used to be likely grants have become aspirational, leading to fewer awards. Another manifestation of how HHS policies have led to fewer awards and less science.

Just spoke to The Hill about how the dismantling of the NIH is impacting science in America. We still face a cliff of unfathomable heights, w easily 1000+ labs poised to close in the next year due to funding ending. A generation of young scientists lost because there is nowhere for them to train.

big ups to

@sfnjournals.bsky.social
for Reviewer Consultation. Peer review is essential to generating rigorous science and communicating it clearly. Yet authors get bogged down with many requests.
#eneuro's
approach to address this using reviewer consultation and consensus is a win for all.
